"Activities of Daily Living" Documentaries

The purpose of an "Activities of Daily Living" Documentary, sometimes called a "Day in the Life" or "Swipe of Life" video, is to portray the damages a plaintiff has sustained because incident addressed in the law suit. The object of the video is to have the jury understand how the plaintiff's life has changed because of the incident and resulting injury.

The best way for a jury to determine how much damage a plaintiff has sustained is to see the plaintiff in an everyday setting. Because it is not practical for the jury to spend the time in the environment of the plaintiff, a video documentary can show the jury just how daily life can provide obstacles that can become insurmountable barriers to the injured plaintiff.

Often video documentaries depicting plaintiff's consequential damages are the best form of evidence the jury has to evaluate damages. If the jurors understand the injury and its impact, they can intelligently place a value on the case.

Settlement Documentaries

Settlement documentaries are produced specifically to impress upon the opposing party that you are prepared to try your case.

A settlement documentary is a concise summation of a case. The final presentation is a 10 to 20 minute video that resembles a story segment on a show like 60 Minutes or 20/20. The objective is to get the opposing part to fully comprehend the pain and suffering that the plaintiff has gone through, typically covers liability and damages, and is presented during a settlement conference.
